Memory Visiting

Our caring visiting volunteers provide companionship and physical activity for people experiencing some degree of memory loss due to any reason and the early stages of dementia.

Visits usually take place once a week for about 30 mins to an hour in the client’s home or depending on ability, volunteers may also take the client out to enjoy some time in the community shopping, having coffee, walking, etc (these visits may be over one hour).

These visits also provide a break for the primary caregiver if the person is not living alone.

  • You can provide assistance and companionship to memory-impaired seniors (who may or may not also be physically challenged) and offer respite to the client’s primary caregiver.
  • Your activities can include, but are not limited to, visiting a client in their home, going on a fun shopping trip or having a chat over coffee.
  • Only 30 min – 2 hours/week time commitment.
